Why is Junior Play Important?

By encouraging kids to begin playing early in life, they are more likely to transition into adult leagues which grows your business.

In particular, Darts teaches kids coordination, social skills, math skills and sportsmanship.

Obviously, Junior players are the future of leagues and darts. The sport can’t grow without bringing in new players. Accordingly, we want to support and encourage the next generation of players!

Junior play provides a way for parents and kids to share a common interest and get more involved with one another.

Bottom line—Junior leagues are fun and benefit you and the players!

Player Eligibility

All tournament players must:

A. Be 20 years of age or younger.
B. Be sanctioned by the NDA for the 2025-2026 membership year in either a youth or adult league.
C. Have played a minimum of 48 league games between May 1, 2025 and May 1st, 2026. Qualifying games must be obtained in no less than four (4) separate weeks of league play. [League games can consist of ‘01 and/or Cricket with a minimum of 12 games in the format the player is entering (’01 or Cricket).]
D. Be entered in the tournament by the NDA Charter Holder on whose machine(s) they have completed the minimum game requirements for tournament entry.
E. Have a NDA player-skill rating using the Points Per Dart (PPD) and/or Marks Per Round (MPR) performance rating system for the event in which they are entered, to be classified. These performance ratings require a player to compete 12 games in a single season for that event. Minimum time to obtain a player-skill rating is four (4) separate league nights in four (4) separate weeks. Players who have played 48 league games but do not have a valid PPD or MPR will be classified in the highest level of their age category.

All tournament teams must:

A. Declare a full team roster, including substitutes, when entry certificates are completed.
B. Must play for the same Charter Holder and form a tournament team meeting the above criteria.

**Violations of the above Player/Team eligibility requirements will void entries and be nonrefundable.

Player Changes/ Substitutions

Prior to May 1 – Make Changes Online

Player changes or substitutions must be in writing from the Charter Holder (your league operator) and include player documentation as required for entries. These changes can be made via mail, email, fax or by logging in to the NDA CompuSport portal, www.compusport.us/nda, and click Tournament Entry.

After May 1 – Onsite Alternate Rule Applies

Onsite alternates can be used by a team as long as the Youth Tournament Committee has approved the change 30 minutes prior to the day’s event. An alternate must be from the same Charter Holder and meet all the player requirements noted in Player/Team Eligibility. Alternate players must be rated equal to or less than the player they are replacing. It is recommended that possible alternates be submitted, with their statistics, prior to the tournament by your operator to avoid delays. Onsite approval for alternates not already participating in the tournament can be requested by a Charter Holder, with appropriate league statistics, within the time-frame noted. Absolutely no one can serve as an alternate on more than one team per event. Any players on your team roster for that event may be rotated in match-by match, not between games.
