On 2/13/2021 Deb went to the Emergency Room where they found an abscess on her appendix and was treated for 6 days due to an infection. Three weeks later she returned to the Doctor with more pain, the abscess didn't get any smaller so they removed her appendix. On 4/13/2021 she received the dreaded phone call that the abscess was actually a tumor full of cancer known as "Mucinous Adenocarcinoma of the appendix that had migrated into the colon. On 5/19/2021 she had surgery of removal of right side of the colon, 18 lymph nodes along with HIPEC Chemotherapy during surgery. This was supposed to be it. Later the pathology report came back showing 2 of the lymph nodes showed traces of cancer. She is now being treated for stage III High Grade Mucinous Neoplasm of the Appendix at Vince Lombardi Cancer Center in Sheboygan for six months with chemotherapy treatment used to treat Appendix and Colon Cancer.
Deb has been off work since 4/2/2021and doesn't look to be going back any time soon.Somewhere
